This Brown Trout was caught on the Bow River in May. This time of year is exceptional for catching big fish that are feeding virtually non-stop in their effort to put the weight back on after a long winter.

This Bull Trout was caught on October 31st just outside the City on a chilly evening. This was the last day of the season for the bow river tributaries and it was the biggest fish of the year. It`s still waiting in the same hole it was pulled out of for another battle this year.

Have you ever caught an 18 inch Rainbow, but almost had it stolen by a 30 inch Bull Trout? You would be surprised at how often it happens here in Southern Alberta. The Picture below shows the reality of this, and yes, we landed the Rainbow and then the next few casts, we had the Bull Trout to the net.

September and October are the two magical months when Bull Trout move to their final spawning destinations and 30+ inch fish are brought to hand. These Bulls are aggressive, and fight like mad!!!

Some of our Hot Spots on the Bow River require some hiking at a nearby trail. This spot will take about 30 minutes at a normal pace to get to the water. Going down is the easy part, but going back up definitely takes a little longer - It's good exercise! The fishing is definitely worth the workout.

Other Hot Spots are drive, park and fish. And the blue sky is always a bonus!
